NooJ is a linguistic development environment software developed by Max Silberztein. Using mathematical rules it provides linguistic tools to help customers formalize natural languages and aid in the building of software able to automatically process texts written in natural language (Natural Language Processing, or NLP).

This application of descriptive linguistics includes spell-checkers, intelligent search engines, information extractors and annotators, automatic summary producers, automatic translators, and more.

MAKE SURE TO UNZIP FILE NooJApp.zip. NooJ does not work if called from inside the .zip file: always run Nooj.exe from the unzipped folder.

To run NooJ on a Windows PC:


Click here if you want the Windows Version

1. enter folder _App
2. double-click Nooj.exe
3. follow instructions: click OK or YES until installation is complete


Do NOT run Nooj.exe more than once during the installation process / Do NOT Cancel installation during the installation process / Do NOT move the Nooj.exe file outside of its native _App folder.


During its first run, NooJ will install linguistic resources in My Documents\NooJ. You should always work in this folder: NEVER modify, add or delete files in the NooJApp application folder
